“ Celebrating Sixteen Years of Ministry to Pioneer Missionaries” We commemorate the sixteenth year of foundation ministry to the pioneer missionary/pastors of the Northwest. Chartered in August, 1991, the foundation embraced the contiguous states of Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, and Montana as its focus area. It’s here that the work of the fourteen missionary/pastors we’ve assisted during 2006 have registered outstanding, even remarkable results in a fruitful ministry. While many characterize these areas as strongholds of Mormon activity, God is opening new doors for effective ministry among some of our churches, especially those most recently planted. Because most pioneer Baptist churches are small, church leaders make considerable sacrifice to fulfill their church planting goals. Highly motivated younger pastors are answering God’s call to go into urban areas, as well as sparsely populated communities. They put down deep roots, and many are recording great results. They are passionate about winning the lost, and they are serving longer tenures. New abilities to network, and connect with local cultures is an effective strategy. God has been especially good during 2006-2007. There are always counter-balancing disappointments, but pastors are weathering these challenges with confidence and a renewal of commitment to His sustaining grace. And, their work is flourishing!
WE APPRECIATE SO MANY OF YOU...for your partnership with the foundation, expressed both in prayer and financial support. We believe the future of Pioneer Missions is bright. While major cities across America continue to add increasing numbers to their population, we thank God for those who respond to God’s call, choosing to ’Shepherd the sheep in smaller pastures…’ Further, we anticipate an increased use of online tools in the coming months. Regular and consistent communication is the only proven strategy for ministry expansion. We have the contacts to assist any church or individuals, who wish to go ‘on mission’; shouldn’t you consider going? We’ll happily help you connect and discover the joy of a ‘missions partnership’ with congregations who know how to say, thanks…Please call us!

Mark and Rachel have served in Baptist Student Ministry at Montana State University in Butte, Montana, since 1988. A native of California. Mark is from Enterprise, and a graduate of California Baptist College, while she is from the Philippines. A gifted singer and musician, she became a U. S. citizen in 1973. They have two children, Caleb (age 14), and Joel (age 10).
A former student pastor while in college, he also served as a part-time church planter/BSU Director in Butte, and became its first full-time director while raising his own support. The support came largely from former students who were compelled of conscience to give that others might benefit as did they. Across the spectrum of pastors, Baptist state workers, and local individuals, Mark and Rachel receive compliments as perhaps the most effective student ministers in the U. S. Yet, they serve in an environment where maximum resources will never be available apart from the providence of God.
Each Summer finds Mark raising funds for select students. He travels to the Far East with some of his university students (on gifted air miles from successful former students), endeavoring to shape the lives of students who will constitute the next generation of believers. The foundation regards them as some of God’s uniquely gifted servants! Far beyond the prime of young adult Baptist Student Ministers, he continues to challenge secular students, and the work flourishes at this state university!

Cam and Cathy live in Troy, MT, where Cam serves as pastor of the Troy Community Baptist Church. Natives of Montana, they have four children: Britani; Chris; Kody, and Sabrina. Additionally, they are foster parents to three additional children. The town of Troy is a lumber oriented town with 16% unemployment…perhaps the highest in the state. However, God has shown favor upon the church and its minister and growth has been excellent. In fact, the church has outgrown its facilities, sold its property, and purchased property for its relocation. Volunteer work crews began construction of its new building in the summer of 2007. From Texas to Missouri, craftsman have come to share in the growth of this young church. The parsonage has been sold in order to accrue more monies to compete the project debt free, and the Foote family moved into a rental property. The church is growing with enthusiasm and the fellowship is united in its focus. Cam is a Certified Millwright (lumber appraisal), and has a straight “A” card in the community college. He volunteers to teach weight lifting in the high school prior to classes, and is coaching girls softball. Both of these activities have led to numerous opportunities to share his faith. He is in his 8th year as pastor. Pray for the Foote family…
